Arqana August yearling sale continued its upward trend with a record gross turnover of
€ 40,000,000 and an average up by 13% from 2007. R & M finished in 3rd position in the leading vendors list with 27 yearlings sold for € 3,784,000.
Our top price was for lot 89, a good looking colt by GALILEO out of BARANJA, who was bought by Bruno Grizzetti for € 520,000.
On the same afternoon lot 43, a half-sister to BELLE ET CELEBRE and 4 other Group horses, by DUBAWI, was bought by Shadwell France for € 400,000.
Lot 69, a half-sister to Group placed YORKTOWN, by GALILEO, was sold to Italian Alevemento dei Sette for € 340,000.
Lot 72, an attractive filly by GIANT’S CAUSEWAY from the family of RUMPLESTILTSKIN, was bought by De Burgh Equine / Farrington Bloodstock for
€ 300,000.
Lot 8, a gorgeous filly by SADLER’S WELLS out of Listed winner MAID OF DAWKINS, was sold to new Australian investor, Patinack Farm, buying under Bertrand Le Metayer, for
€ 280,000.
These excellent results left R & M at the top of the leading vendors list at the end of the Friday select session.
On Sunday evening, lot 292 became one of the many examples of the great results for French sired yearlings at this sale. This handsome colt by GREEN TUNE was picked up by Peter Doyle for trainer Richard Hannon for € 210,000.
